Ayur Safe Certificate

People accepts the right, but also the responsibility, to decide for himself about his health and well-being, which means that he chooses an individual and active way of changing life habits that preserve and strengthen his physical, mental and spiritual health. It should be understood that the quality of one’s health or well-being derives primarily from one’s thoughts and actions.

A code of competence (staff expertise) has been established within the Institute for Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine, Ayur Ashram, for the implementation of education and promotion of Traditional Medicine – research, spirituality and health.

The primary mission of the Ayur Ashram Institute is to bridge Western Hippocratic medicine with traditional medical systems – specifically Ayurveda (India), followed by its “siblings” Sowa-Rigpa (Tibet) and Unani (Persia) – to effectively collaborate on preventive care (including the provision of free public lectures) and the treatment of chronic diseases.

Every individual involved in the practice of Traditional Medicine (including the staff in Traditional Medicine) commits, above all, to acting humanely – demonstrating a steadfast commitment to conduct that reflects the following values – the code!

Ayurveda is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a holistic system of medicine. In countries where it operates alongside modern Western medicine, it proves effective in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases and is beneficial both before and after surgical procedures.

It is also crucial that the Ayurveda practiced in a European context be meaningful, of high quality, and consistent with Ayurvedic practices worldwide. This implies that terminology and procedures remain consistent, and that the practice is dedicated to actions that promote physical well-being.

While traditional Ayurvedic medicine is not a cure-all for every health issue, it offers a path toward a fulfilling life – a concept with which one’s “personal (Hippocratic) Western physician” should also agree. By accepting this approach, the physician acknowledges the patient’s needs and gains insight into the procedures administered by Ayurvedic practitioners to support the patient’s physical well-being.

Our team at the Institute, Ayur Ashram, of experienced professionals brings deep industry knowledge and expertise to the Ayur Safe Certificate process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Inspired by the principles of the Ayur Safe Certificate, our educational approach and the Ayur Safe Certification project place human health first.

We welcome individuals who are interested in phytotherapy and herbal medicines, or who hold a professionally active qualification in the field: Bach Flower Therapists & Homeopaths, and Aromatherapists & Therapists of Forest Medicine or Forest Wellness Programs.

Phytotherapy has long tradition in many countries of modern world. Many countries have gone through the historically genuine, indigenous, mostly empirically founded approach in planting, growing and applying herbs as a medicine or condiment.

Traditional Sowa-Rigpa medicine with Ayurvedic medicine is one of the two largest ancient medical systems with complete structure of education and rules for practice. Both systems have specific procedure in processing and prescribing and applying diverse parts of herbal remedies.

Herbalism is not just about products; it also involves conversations, advice, and the sharing of experiences… It encompasses the history of herbalism – for instance, the significance of monastic medicine in the Middle Ages. In European countries, as well as in the Balkans, people have been engaged in herbalism since ancient times.

We welcome everyone – whether you have completed formal training in herbalism at educational institutions specializing in herb cultivation and processing, or have years of practical experience in harvesting and processing herbs. Herbalism is typically pursued as a supplementary activity, with a particular emphasis on organic practices.

If your personal goal is to obtain an official qualification (such as a diploma or certificate) that allows you to practice herbalism professionally, training is available in Europe leading to the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) for “Herb Grower.” We are also pleased to award Ayur Safe Certificates for this purpose.
